Welcome to HotelGuide.Networks' directory of hotels and hotel reviews for Santiago, Chile!
As Chile’s capital and largest city, with a wealth of hotels and lodging accommodations, Santiago boasts a modern subway system, making it all the easier to reach attractions ranging from museums, shopping malls, and amusement parks to lovely university campuses, fine restaurants and nightclubs. Visitors to Santiago need at least two or three days to get acquainted with the city although a single day visit allows coverage of the city’s leading attractions, most within a short walk or drive from each other. El Centro, the city's historic downtown is home to museums, cathedrals, cultural centers, and civic institutions housed within neoclassical-style buildings. Stately mansions line streets of the Barrio París-Londres, while Calle Dieciocho’s stone palaces represent wealth of Santiago's elite at the turn of the 20th century. On smog-free days, visitors often gravitate to one of Santiago’s hilltop parks for grand views of the snowcapped Andes rising to the east behind the city. The residential and commercial neighborhoods of Providencia and Las Condes housing some of the top-level hotels are ideal for observing local lifestyles while out for a stroll. Santiago also serves as a springboard for easy day-trips to the lovely Vina del Mar, genteel sister to the rough and tumble port city of Valparaiso. Accommodations range from luxury mountain lodges (where ski trails extend from high above almost to the swimming pool) to grande dame hotels downtown.
